After studying at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, gaining some experience in the financial industry, Steve began his career with IG Wealth Management in 1987. As some of you may remember, in October 1987 Black Monday occurred and stock markets around the world crashed. Steve has embraced that experience and considers it one of the strongest learning curves of his career.

Steve supports and participates in numerous IG Wealth Management sponsored events throughout the year, such as the IG Walk for Alzheimer’s. This event is especially important to his dedicated Executive Assistant, Kelly Lawless, who lost her father to this relentless disease. Steve has also become a large supporter of a local charity, The Single Parents Association of Newfoundland and Labrador. Their objective is “to provide support for single parents, enabling them to regain control over their lives for the empowerment of themselves and their children”. Each year Steve and his team collect toys and presents for single parent families at Christmas and support their back to school program by collecting backpacks, school supplies, and donations for this very worthy cause.

Steve raised his two children in Conception Bay South and continues to reside there today. In his free time he can be found at his cottage around the bay on his snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle. He enjoys fishing, hunting and anything else the outdoor life offers.
